Fairhaven Martians on the move!

The martians staying with this family in Fairhaven got to go to the Philadelphia Zoo! Check out the cheetah in the background...I wonder what the animals are like on the martians' home planet?
Next up in summer fun for these martians? The Cole Bros. Circus in Rochester.

Cosmo catches some RARE earthly sun rays with his pal, Duncan.
Still more Fairhaven martians at the Rhode Island Audubon Society wildlife refuge in Bristol RI.

Where will those martians go next? I wonder what cool places other martians in the state are visiting!

Eeeeeek! Good thing I know for a fact that those martians in front of the Millicent Library are friendly.

StarshipAdventures @ UptonTownLibrary!

On Tuesday, the Upton Town Library hosted a special drop-in craft day, giving children of all ages the opportunity to stop in and make a Space Buddy to share in their Starship Adventures this summer. Local artist & illustrator Lauren Scheuer, who designed our Space Buddy, dropped by to join the fun, and posed for this picture with our staff. Our newest circulation clerk, Eileen Rakitin, made T-shirts for all staff members, using Lauren's design!
Below is a photo submitted via email from one of our young patrons who had a dentist appt after her library visit ... so here's yet another Martian getting a dental check-up while visiting Earth this summer!

Elaró Elkross at the Kennedy Space Center

Elaró Elkross landed in Weymouth Massachusetts and decided
to hitch a ride to Florida with Miss Amy. While he was there, he
met the Astronaut, Julie Payette who is scheduled to fly on the
Space Shuttle "Endeavor" this July. He also visited the Kennedy
Space Center and watched a rocket launch carrying the Lunar
Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) and the Lunar Crater Observation
and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS). Check out his slideshow.
Find out more about the missions at www.nasa.gov.

Martian Looking for Library spots to visit!

Hoops, the Liberty/East Springfield branch Martian would like to visit some other libraries in MA! We'd like to send him Via box packing like we did with the gnomes a few years ago (complete with a little travel book so libraries can write about his visit.)

If anyone would like to host him for a few days, let me know in the comments and we'll make sure he gets to your library.

Getting ready for Florida!

Martian on the move

This little guy landed in Weymouth Massachusetts. He is heading down to Florida tomorrow. Hopefully, he'll get to see a rocket launch while he's at the Kennedy Space Center
